ROSS ELLIS

Ross Ellis

Freelanced locomotive. Painted in the distictive VLINE Pass colours of Red Blue, white & grey, letterd as our own " Valley Line". This loco is the first Diesel outline loco to wear our logo.

This loco is fictional and is not modelled off a real loco. This loco was made to replace DVR D1300 loco, as it had worn out. The D1300 loco was painted in V/Line Orange and Grey livery. D1300 was built in the 80s. Extract from Diamond Power 1982 page 40 "The clubs D1300, a petrol electric main line loco is well advanced and participating members will resume building when more urgent matters have received attention."

The D2 1300 was named after the late Ross Ellis, a well-respected member of DVR. Ross was known to be a hard working member. For a period of time he was the Rolling Stock Superintendent at DVR.
